The laboratory, activated in collaboration with the University Language Center (CLA) aims to strengthen students’ level of knowledge of the English language, supporting them in acquiring the related Cambridge certifications. For those that have already reached a high level of knowledge of the English language, it will be possible to study other foreign languages.
After graduating in Accounting & HRM in Ireland, I began my career as a HR generalist for The Kellogg’s Company in Australia before returning to Ireland where I worked as a HR manager in the logistics sector. In my time in Italy, I have worked for Amazon Italy as a CS training manager and MoneyGram International where I was head of global TCS training. I have also worked as an L&D consultant for a number of industry market leaders in Italy.
My involvement in education has primarily centred on designing and delivering sector specific training programmes for a number of universities and business schools in Italy. At present, I design and deliver sector specific language courses at Federico II di Napoli. I also designed the first ever MOOC for L’Orientale di Napoli – Tourism 101 – which will be launched soon. Furthermore, I am a registered lecturer of Business Administration at tertiary level in Ireland.
My main area of academic interest is in the research and application of desirable difficulties to enhance recall and long-term memory in learning, and I have carried out research into the use of disfluency in learning and its application in online learning environments.
