Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio (born 13 March 1959) is an Italian lawyer and journalist. He was National President of the ‘Federazione dei Verdi’ from 2 December 2001 to 19 July 2008, MP of ‘I Verdi’, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Policies in the Amato II government and Minister of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea in the Prodi II government. He is currently President of the General Council of the UniVerde Foundation, Professor at the University of Milan-Bicocca and the University Tor Vergata in Rome and President of the Scientific Committee of the Campagna Amica Foundation. Author of numerous articles and publications.
